The
village of Praia do Forte was built on the site of the indigenous
village of Tatuapara. Until the year 2000, all streets of Praia
do Forte were made of earth, which, on the one hand reflected the
rusticity of the place, but also had the disadvantage of dust from
vehicular traffic. Today the three main streets and their cross-streets
have been partially bricked. Together with the pleasant landscaping
of plants and grass, and the good taste of the architecture, the
streets of the village provide a pleasant stroll, where fashionable
stores, crafts, services and restaurants can be admired, or, in
residential areas, tree-lined avenues of earth, full of beautiful
houses. There is a market, tourism bureau, post office and automatic
bank teller of the Banco do Brasil, HSBC, and Bradesco.
ATTENTION, it is not possible to get money using international cards
in these tellers, only in the Airport of Salvador, or in Salvador
itself. |
